I picked up a copy of Joe Vitale’s “Cyber Writing - How to Promote Your Product or Service Online (without being flamed)” from the library and am reading through it. Joe wrote this in 1997, so some of the things mentioned are a bit dated - nevertheless, there are important principles to be gleaned from it.

Joe stresses the importance of good copywriting - a must-have skill of every aspiring internet marketer. On the internet, words SELL. Good web design helps but ultimately it is the words that sell.

Where do you find those words that sell? Next time you’re reading magazines or newspapers, make a note of the headlines that grab your attention. Do the same when you go to the bookstore. Which book titles just jump out at you and make you stop to look at them?

Now do the same with Adwords ads. Check out the competition. Do a search on Google and find those

ads that make you want to click on them.

Find out what makes them work and you’ll notice the words that sell!
