I just bought Jeff Alderson’s latest product RSS Equalizer. This is something that I’ve been looking for for some time. It’s really cool. What it allows you to do is to grab any RSS feed and display them on your content sites. RSS stands for “real simple syndication” and it’s a way for webmasters to syndicate their content to other sites.

For example, you could display the top stories from the New York Times on your website by using their RSS feed. On your site, you will display the title of the story with a couple of sentences describing the story. Everytime the “feed” updates, your website will update its content as well.

What’s all the excitement, you say? First of all, if you’re into search engine optimization, you’ll have to know that search engines LOVE content sites. If you have a content-rich site, it’ll get spidered frequently. Furthermore, if the content is updated regularly, this is even better.

So, RSS is a simple way to keep your content pages fresh, without doing much work. Basically it updates your pages on autopilot. How does it work? You can take a look at one of my sites where I have installed RSS Equalizer. Click here.

Installation of RSS Equalizer is really simple. It’s a server-side PHP script which you install on your host server. I set the whole thing up in a few minutes. The only requirement is that your webhost support PHP 4.0 and later. If not, you’re out of luck. Time to switch hosting companies!

Another BIG plus is that this program generates actual HTML pages rather than inserting javascript code into your pages which search engines cannot recognize. So basically, you’re generating spider food! Yum Yum!
