Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
A couple of days before Christmas, the DHL truck pulled up out front and delivered me a little package. Turns out that it was a nice Christmas present from Google. Here’s what it looks like:

It’s a mood light + radio combo. The neat thing is that you can change the function just by flipping the thing on one of its four sides. So you can have just the “radio” by having it on one side, then flipping it 90 degrees on another side will turn on the “mood light + radio”. You can also just have the “mood light” on and use it as a nice nightlight.
From what I’ve heard it seems that publishers with significant Adsense earnings in 2004 got this gift. I use both Adwords and Adsense, so I’m not sure which I’m being rewarded for.
Anyway, I thought this was a nice touch. Free gifts are good marketing tools.
I’ve even seen some of these mood light radios already being auctioned on eBay for as high as $80.
I think I’ll keep mine though. Maybe next year, Google will send me an iPod. Or even better, a clock that displays my daily Adsense earnings.
