Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
According to this article that I read, it is rumoured that changes to Google’s Adwords policy are in the works. Specifically, the shown URL has to match to actual landing page URL.
What this means is that redirects will no longer be allowed. You see this often where a keyword search will trigger multiple ads all showing the same destination URL. This is good and bad.
The good: This means that the traffic you will get will be more targeted. You should also see an increase in the volume of traffic since currently the traffic could be spread out among the different ads all showing the same URL.
The bad: This will disable a lot of affiliate marketers’ ads. The question I have is, how is Google going to determine which ad (out of the many) to allow to show? Maybe only the domain owner is now allowed to show the ads. Does that mean all “aff” ads will be dropped?
We’ll have to keep an eye on this one and see where it goes.
