I wonder what’s going on at Google. PageRank (PR) hasn’t shown up for any site since yesterday. Maybe Google’s doing an update?

I did a search for “pagerank” on Google and here’s the top listing - Google Technology. It’s a Google page that gives you a little bit of background about how Google figures out the PageRank of different webpages.

The second page listed is also a subpage of Google.

Phil Craven’s article on “Google’s PageRank Explained” is showing up in the third position. It’s worth a read. It goes into a lot more detail about how PageRank is calculated.

For those of you who are interested in more technical details, take a look at this paper by Sergey Brin and Larry Page titled “The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine”.
