Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google

If you haven’t checked your Adwords campaigns today, you should. The long awaited new keyword status is in effect. Keywords are now either ‘active’ or ‘inactive’. There are no more such vague terms as ‘in trial’ or ‘on hold’. Getting inactive keywords active is simple. You just have to up the bid to the minimum suggested by Google. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll pay the suggested bid price. I suspect that you’ll actually pay the higher bid price for a while but if your CTR improves, then your bid will automatically be lowered.

However, if you still don’t achieve a certain CTR, your keyword will once again be inactive and you’ll have to up your bid once again.

Here’s a tip - if you need to change the bids on multiple keywords, you can check off the keywords and then choose ‘Edit CPCs/URLs’ and set all the keywords to the minimum suggested bid.

Another tip - you can now bid a minimum of $0.01 for a keyword.
