Andrew Goodman reports on WebProNews that Google is starting to show their own ads on some websites displaying AdSense. I haven’t noticed this myself on any sites but I’ll have to keep an eye out for this. This is of concern to publishers. The question that’s raised is whether the publisher gets paid when someone clicks on a Google “house ad”. Obviously, Google wants to get more advertisers for AdWords and publishers for AdSense. It’s just a straightforward business strategy. The more advertisers and publishers, the higher Google’s revenues.
