Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
Someone over at Lynn Terry’s SelfStartersWeeklyTips forum asked, “How do you make any sales with Amazon’s affiliate program?”
For the most part I use manual product links. One strategy I’ve used is setting up a blog to promote seasonal stuff. For instance, I’ve got a Christmas gifts blog where I write about gift ideas and include links to Amazon (and other retailers).
Without any SEO efforts, this particular blog gets on average 60+ uniques per day and has a nice Christmas term at #3 in MSN which is where most traffic is coming from. This is a WordPress blog. I started out using Blogger but I find Blogger to be deficient in certain areas. In particular, I can never find a place where you can manually set sites you want to ping.
Made quite a few sales through Amazon too. Some items that are over $100 pay nice commissions. :)

Yes, You Can Make Money With Amazon
Here are the results from a little test I've been running with the Amazon affiliate program. I'm posting this as proof that it can be done, seeing that there are many people who have complained on the forums that you can't make money with Amazon.

I emailed the affiliate program manager of the campaign I described yesterday. It turns out that I had already made some sales but they haven't been posted on the stats page yet. So the moral of the story is that you shouldn't hesitate to get in touch with the affiliate
What Motivates Super Affiliates?
The idea of a super affiliate lifestyle is surely enticing to a lot of people. Who wouldn't want to be able to travel around the world all the while having a bank account that automatically gets filled with affiliate earnings on autopilot? What I Would Do If I Were 19 Again
If you're reading this and you're 25 or under, you've got an advantage - especially in internet or affiliate marketing (yes, that includes PPC). Why?
Because you're young and you can afford to make mistakes.
And as long as you learn from your mistakes, that's okay.
Otherwise, it's insanity.

Linkshare Has A New Affiliate Interface
It's about time too. I'm not a very big user of Linkshare but their affiliate management interface was terrible. That may have been one reason I didn't use them a lot comapred to CJ. I just logged in today and was pleased to find that they have a new, more

1Unless you have very loyal readers you won’t get many product sales with a generic website. It definitely has to be a targeted website that is based around products (i.e. book reviews, product reviews etc…) and while I’ve condemned Chitika to death, the same thing applies with them as with Amazon.
If you throw an ad for camera’s up on your site that deals with generic political news, good luck. All you’ll get is an occasional lucky sale that happens to be thinking of that camera at that particular time and the rest of the traffic will simply ignore it.
Remember who your audience is. For a site like above you may get some sales on political books.

2I beg to differ. You don’t need loyal readers if you site ranks well in the search engines. Targeting multiple keyword phrases using standard SEO-friedly techniques will go a long way.
Of course if you have a blog that’s off topic from what you’re promoting, then all bets are off.

3I agree with Hock.
I have a blog that was designed to sell a pill for men :p It attracts organic traffic from the major search engines, (mostly from MSN) and get consistent # of sales from it. I highly doubt they are random sales.
