Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
Well, I guess it’s not too late to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and certainly not too late to wish you a Happy New Year! I spent the last week totally unwired, i.e. away from any sort of internet access, which was a welcome break. It was a good time to rest, reflect and recharge.
I was doing some traveling and while driving on the interstate looking for a place to put up for the night, I was just thinking that advertisements on billboards are quite like Google AdWords ads. There’s usually a headline and a few words about the product or service. If we are going to make a strict comparison, it would be more like image ads or banner ads.
In any case, I was looking for a place to stay so the ads that caught my attention were the ones for hotels and motels. If the advertiser had three little words in their ad copy that I was looking for, they would have increased their chances of winning my business. Do you know what those three little words were?
Free Wireless Internet.
It’s very much the same case if you’re an AdWords advertiser. Get to know your potential customers and what they’re looking for. If you get the right keywords and include the phrases that are relevant, you’re going to increase your conversions and sales. It applies if you’re trying to sell something or get someone to sign up for a newsletter or download a free ebook.

1Hey Hock … Happy New Year.
I too put blogging on the backburner for the week and totally forgot about my computer/the internet - rest, reflect and recharge: you’re spot on there :-)
All the best for 2006.
