Any website lives or dies by the amount of traffic coming to it. While most people think of traffic coming from search engines and links from other sites, one source of traffic not to be ignored is from your own subscriber base (that is assuming you have an email list of your own). This month, I’m going to focus on increasing the number of subscribers to Marketing Tools Review.

One of the things I’ve done is to join List and Traffic which is Jimmy D. Brown’s membership site on - you’ve guessed it - how to grow your list and traffic. Jimmy walks the walk and is one of the marketers to keep on your radar screen. Compared to other similar products, this membership site is a steal at $10 per month.

Here are some of my current list building strategies:

1. Name squeeze home page rather than open access.
2. Have a sign up box for the newsletter of every single page of this blog.
3. Contribute to relevant forums that allow signatures (and put the link to my name squeeze page).
4. Having a sign up box for the newsletter on the forum pages.

I’m sure I’ll be able to add to this list (no pun intended) as I learn more.
