Most internet entrepreneurs don’t pay a lot of attention to backing up their hard drives which is like keeping your cash under your pillow. I have an Iomega 80GB external hard drive that I use to periodically backup my most important files.

If you want some added security, back up your data in several places. There are many online services that allow you to backup your files over the internet. Most charge a fee but this one I’m going to tell you about is free - for up to 2GB of storage space.

Worried that someone can read your files? Don’t worry - the files are sent encrypted so that no one can read them. You have a password that can decode the files. Lose your password and your files will remain unreadable.

So this service is called Mozy. I read about it in PC Magazine (Editor’s Choice) and tried it out. It’s pretty easy to use and a good alternative to have as your secondary backup. I still recommend having an additional backup drive in your office.
