Darren from Problogger.net encourages people to submit their blog goals, so here’s mine. I borrowed the title of this post from Seth Godin’s book “Purple Cow”. Being a purple cow means striving to stand out from the crowd.
Here are my goals:
1. Getting to know my readers. After all, what’s the purpose of blogging if no one’s reading it?
2. Posting once a day. I’ll try my best to do this starting today. This blog has been quite neglected of late due to my many other projects.
3. Serving the needs of my readers. One of the main reasons I started this blog in the beginning was to learn more about the ins and outs of internet marketing. As such this blog serves a dual purpose. It’s a record for myself to see how far I’ve come but I also want to share reviews of things I’ve tried with others. There’s just too much ‘guru’ stuff out there which is confusing.
4. Have FUN! Blogging should be fun - even if you’re a problogger (which I’m not). This is still my part-time project. :)

2I find daily posting to be very difficult. On the average I post to BadLanguage.net three or four times a week. If I have time, I try to make one of the posts more of an article. How do you keep yourself motivated? I’d love to hear of any tactics or techniques that work for you.
Cheers, Matthew

3Matthew,
I used to post a couple of times per week. But now I’d like to focus more on daily posting and engaging my readers. How do I keep myself motivated? I’d like to think that people who are reading this blog find useful information here and my goal is to help others find success.

4Nice goals. I recommend writing more than one post at a time and either saving them as a draft or scheduling them to go out on different days. This helps me with being able to come up with one post a day.
Also, nice title. It really drew me in. I thought you were going to be talking about Seth Godin or something.

5Hi George,
Thanks for the tip and the compliments. Incidentally I just started listening to Seth’s “The Big Moo” today.
