Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
This is a nifty tool that automates monitoring other people’s PPC campaigns in Google, Yahoo and MSN. You can even keep track of which keywords they are bidding on and their ad position. I’ve been thinking about hiring a programmer to do something like this but now that this product is out, I won’t have to do that.
It’s called Competition Dominator and it’s brought to you by the same people who came out with Keywords Analyzer which is another favorite tool that I use. CD does more than just looking at PPC campaigns. It can also monitor an entire market that you specify based on a root keyword and return results of the Google PageRank, number of pages indexed and backlinks in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Hopefully, on the PPC side, they’ll expand it to include some of the second-tier search engines as well.
CD doesn’t launch until tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 29th) at 11:00 EST but I was given a preview copy to test and play with. I am satisfied with what it does and knowing Chris and Goran who are behind this, they will certainly be improving on the product in future versions. The launch price is set at $97 but will go up in the following days. So if you intend to get it, I would get it sooner rather than later.
I also like that it’s a desktop program rather than a membership fee-based program. This way you just have to pay once and be able to use the program that you download and own.
Okay, here are some sneak preview screenshots of CD in action. Here I’m doing some competition analysis on the Hoodia market.
You can specify the list of keywords to search for competitors either by manually entering a keyword list, grabbing the results from Overture, Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery. The latter two requires a separate membership in those programs.
You can get an overview of the competition by specifying individual domains to watch:
Going into more detail, you can see the number of campaigns in Google, Yahoo and MSN. You’ll also see the actual ad copy used and have the option to monitor the position of the ad over time. This information will help you find out who is staying in the market. If your competition is in the market in a relatively high PPC position over time, it’s more than likely that they are highly profitable.
You can also view all the ads on one screen (sort by number of occurances or ad position) and the keywords that the URL is ranked for in the 3 top search engines.
I hope you can see how powerful this piece of software is. Anyone who is seriously involved in PPC advertising should have this in their arsenal.
Go get Competition Dominator now.
