Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
My suspicion that Yahoo is no longer supporting what used to be the Overture keyword tool is confirmed. I have been trying to access the tool for the past week unsuccessfully. While many webmasters and SEOs debate about how accurate that tool is with respect to the search numbers, it was still nice to have a free keyword research tool that allows you to get some ideas about the popularity of certain keywords or phrases when you are doing some market research.
I’m wondering if Yahoo will provide access to an updated version of this tool for Yahoo Search Marketing clients. (Anybody from Yahoo reading this blog?) Otherwise, they could offer a paid version of a keyword tool. Now a lot of third party tools were relying on grabbing the results from the Overture tool so we’ll now see what kinds of solutions the creators of those products can come up with.

New Keyword Research Tool
I just got a copy of Keyword Elite and I'm putting it to the test. So far, I like what I see. The potential of this tool for helping me create new keyword lists is enormous. But the competitive research capability is another aspect of the tool which I like.

Google AdWords Keyword Tool
There is a new keyword tool in your AdWords account, in case you haven't noticed. Once you're logged in, click on the ad group and you should see a link for 'Keyword Tool' right above the table. The tool lets you generate variations of keywords from your best performing keywords.

So far it is MUCH MUCH faster than Overture used to be. I would have to say I am a big fan so far.

2Thanks for sharing that resource, Bryan. I didn’t realize that Wordtracker now has this free tool available. I had used Wordtracker for my keyword research before but I haven’t looked at them recently.
Right now, I’m testing out NicheBot. I just started their $1 trial yesterday so I’m still playing around with the program. I’ll keep you updated.
