Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
This is the third in a series of website reviews sponsored by ReviewMe. I think that it’s a great idea for webmasters seeking a one way link from a high PR site. Instead of just purchasing a single link, you get more for your buck by getting a whole review written up about your site.
Today’s featured site is the FloristOne affiliate program. As the name suggests, this is a internet-based floral delivery service. FloristOne started in 1999 and offers their products through online purchase or a toll-free telephone number. The service area is United States and Canada. So if you’re not based in North America, you can still participate if your website gets traffic mainly from the US and Canada.
The products are listed by category and each category displays a series of thumbnails of available floral arrangements. Customers can click on the thumbnails for larger images and also detailed information about the specific product.
There are also listings by occasions such as flowers for everyday, birthdays, anniversaries, romance, get well wishes, new baby, and thank you’s. The other categorical listing is by price where the customer can choose a product based on the price range that they are willing to spend. Finally, like any good retail website, there is a search function where you can search by keyword or item number.
FloristOne claims to have the highest affiliate payout rates of any florist. According to their site:
We pay the highest commissions of any florist affiliate program; you will earn more money than ever before. Our base commission rate is 22% of all sales, and we will pay you as much as 25% if your website generates a significant volume of flower sales.
The commission is based on a tiered system with increasing commissions for increasing number of orders placed through your affiliate link. Affiliates generating less than 300 orders will make 22%, and the commission rate increases by one percent for every 300 orders up to a maximum of 25%. There is no second-tier for affiliates that you recruit.
The affiliate program is managed in-house. Cookies last for 90 days (personally I prefer cookies that last at least 6 months). Commissions are paid by checks once a month and there is a minimum payment threshold of $25.
Under the hood:
I signed up for the affiliate program. Signup is simple and without hassle. Looks like you’re automatically accepted and given the login details so I was able to take a look inside the affiliate admin area. There are real time stats reporting. You get text and banner links that you can use. This lags behind other affiliate programs where you get more stuff like datafeeds, articles, storefronts, etc. Frankly, they can do much more in this arena by providing more resources for affiliates.
Overall, I think this is a program that you should look into if you have a site that’s relevant to the floral market. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and after that, you’ll have Easter, graduation and Mother’s Day. Time to get your sites ready for these seasonal promotions.

1Hock,
Thanks for the review. These reviews are good for exposure us and we also want to use them to improve the program.
Based on your feedback, the program has been modified in a few ways:
1) Our cookies never expire. This is our best effort to ensure you are getting paid on all orders from your visitors to our site. Our affiliate page has been updated to reflect this.
2) Yes, our affiliate area is limited to text links and banners. We have since added a product spreadsheet that we can send to affiliates with links, images and descriptions of our individual flower products. This will help our affiliates target specific pages. We hope to make this accessible through the affiliate area of our site in the near future.
Thanks for your review and feedback Hock.

2Brian,
Thanks for being so responsive and making those changes. Also, do you offer 2nd tier affiliate commissions?
