The answers to those 3 questions will guide you towards the thing that you should focus on.

It’s too easy to get sidetracked. I’m guilty of this too. As someone who’s interested in a LOT of things, I have to try hard to focus on getting a project off the ground before starting another one.

Here are some thoughts on how to focus and increase your productivity:

1. Step away from the computer if you find yourself surfing around aimlessly. Once you step away, think about strategic things that you need to do. What are the most important things and start from the top and go down the list.

2. Check email less frequently. Close your email program so that you won’t get distracted everything an email pops in.

3. Quit checking the forums all day. Visiting forums has its value but too much time spent trolling the forums result in no work getting done.

4. Install an RSS reader. Personally, I use Google Reader but you can choose anything that’s most familiar to you. With an RSS reader, you won’t have to visit each blog to check up on the latest posts. You can quickly browse through the headlines from many different blogs.

5. Check your stats once or twice a day. I know this is hard to do if you’ve just launched a new PPC campaign. You’ve got to be vigilant and keep track closely of your spending. But oftentimes, once a campaign gets going, you can pretty much leave it on autopilot. Check your stats once a week and tweak your campaigns then.
