Here are a few upcoming conferences that are of interest to affiliate marketers and search engine optimizers:

ad:tech NY - November 5-8, 2007

This conference is focused on advertising and technology but from the description on their website, it seems to be geared towards the “corporate” types. The conference features 3 different tracks: Media and Branding, Emerging Platforms, and Performance Marketing and Consumer Behavior

Affiliate Summit, Las Vegas, February 24-26, 2008

This is one of the most popular conferences among affiliate marketers. Many affiliate programs will host booths and send affiliate managers there to recruit. So be sure to network with them and also with other affiliate marketers. Shawn Collins and Missy Ward are the founders of this conference.

ShareaSale ThinkTank, October 19-21, 2007

This isn’t a widely publicized event but I’ve heard good things about it. If you’d like an invitation, email Brian for the details.

Search Engine Strategies - Runs quite a few events each year. The next one is being held in London, October 25-26, 2007. I’ve been to the NY event before. Although there were some affiliate programs there, the conference itself seems to be geared towards larger companies.

SMX (Search Marketing Expo) - The people behind this are Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman. According to the site, people who should attend are advertising budget holders (ok, that should include us solo affiliate marketers), in-house search marketers (that’s us too), brand managers (corporate folks), paid search advertising planners and buyers, organic search optimization specialists (that’s us) and web technology professionals (that’s us).

These are other events that take place annually but are not yet scheduled for 2008.

There’s the Linkshare Symposium and CJU - another very popular event.

I’ve also seen one called PPC Summit that looks like it’s geared towards more “corporate” types again.

PubCon is very popular among SEOs.

CPA Empire Breakaway is one that’s targeted towards CPAE affiliates.

Elite Retreat - if you’re up for paying big moolah to learn from the likes of Jeremy Schoemaker, Lee Dodd and Aaron Wall.
