Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
Last month Derek Beauchemin (derekbeau.com) ran a contest to give away free advertising and I won one of the prizes.

As you can see, I won the 7th prize from a random drawing. What’s the prize? It’s a text ad on the post of my choice on Derek’s blog. The other prizes included banners and text link ads.
The contest was a good idea to get more readers and links to Derek’s blog (which by the way, has excellent content so go read it). You may also get ideas about how to run contests of your own. This particular contest can be replicated by anybody because it doesn’t involve any out-of-pocket costs. Of course, if you can afford it, you can award physical prizes or cash but if you’re just starting out and your budget is tight, this is definitely a good way to do it.
