If you’re reading this and you’re 25 or under, you’ve got an advantage - especially in internet or affiliate marketing (yes, that includes PPC). Why?
Because you’re young and you can afford to make mistakes.
And as long as you learn from your mistakes, that’s okay.
Otherwise, it’s insanity.

It seems like super affiliates are getting younger and younger.
If you’re 19, chances are you might be in college. You’ve got a ton of energy. When I was in college, it seemed like I needed less sleep. You could use your extra time to learn internet marketing. Plus, you don’t have a lot of responsibilities aside from studying and getting decent grades.
If you’re not in college, you’re probably working. But hey, you’ve still got time on the nights and weekends.
You don’t have a family to support. You can live on a lot less.
You can live in your parent’s basement. No mortgage to worry about.
You may not have a job to go to.
You can spend a LOT of time honing your skills - SEO, site building, traffic building, coding, PPC, etc.
But I don’t have any money, you say.
Well, get creative. There are LOTS of ways that you can build up some capital to start. You need a game plan.
You could get a part-time job and save up your earnings. Eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a month. Do whatever it takes.
You get sell your stuff on Ebay.
Got some coding or design skills? Offer your services on Elance or Digitalpoint forums. When I got started, I used my time and Photoshop skills to offer my services designing ebook covers. Within a month or two, I managed to save up a few hundred dollars to kick off my PPC campaigns.
The time to start is now. Learn as much as you can and put it into practice. Need some motivation? Read this and take action.

1Gotta disagree here Hock. Often when you’re young, you’re less serious about this type of project (at least in my case). Second, I am way more mature now and I approach this kind of thing with much more professionalism. I was to busy getting drunk 13 years ago.
Just my 2 cents.

2Great post! :)
I appreciate the mention. I am young and you’re right, I use most of my time to learn to be better at what I do.
I have the energy to be able to practically work all night, sleep a bit, get up the next morning and do it all over again. To me it’s fun. :)

3Stephane,
My point is that when you’re young, you can afford to take more risks and make a lot more mistakes.
Jonathan,
Thanks for stopping by. As long as you’re having fun, it won’t feel like work at all. That’s key!
