Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
Ebay Partner Network is set to officially launch on April 1st, 2008. Until now, the affiliate program has been managed through Commission Junction. No doubt this will be a huge loss for CJ.
What does this switchover mean for affiliates? It will be especially challenging for those webmasters who have manually inserted the CJ links across a large number of websites. Updating them will be a headache. That’s why a little planning in the early stages of setting up your website is crucial. Those who use an ad management system like OpenX would only have to go into the admin panel to make one change of the link and it will propagate wherever the ad is shown.
The other option is to use a third party tool such as BANS to manage your websites. I read on their forum that the creators of BANS had signed an NDA with eBay to learn about these new changes and are already on their way to modifying their system.

This week, eBay officially launched their in-house affiliate program called eBay Partner Network (real creative name, right). It's free to join and replaces the affiliate program that they had on CJ. I think CJ links are going to be phased out after May 1st. If you hand coded all the

Ebay vs. Google
EBay has recently pulled out all their ads from Google AdWords. Apparently, the folks at EBay didn't appreciate that Google was trying to poach the attendees of the EBay Live conference in Boston to their Google Checkout Freedom Party. Google is trying to push Google Checkout to compete against PayPal. On the

Yahoo Partners With Ebay
Soon you can choose to get your YPN earnings paid into your PayPal account. YPN ads will also start showing up on eBay. This should give Yahoo a good revenue boost. Time perhaps to invest in some Yahoo stocks? :)

1Wow, that’s a big blow for CJ. I don’t have too many sites promoting Ebay, but it’ll still be a pain to go back and edit or replace those widgets and doodads.

2Hi Wendy,
Yeah… same here. I don’t promote eBay on a large scale but it’s going to be a lot of headache for a lot of affiliates.

3I actually stumbled across this info earlier today and was wondering how BANS owners would take this news. Good think they’ve got some sort of solution =)

5Hey Hock,
Yes they got hacked last week, reeked havoc. But alls well and good now. I have a few BANS sites but am looking forward to working direct under the ebay affiliate program.
Actually you may be able to help. I’ve found a couple of free scripts which let me add ebay listings to my blog sites but they are pretty ordinary in layout. Do you or anyone else know of a good ebay layout script which enables you to add your CJ PID?
Nice to catch up, oh BTW my “trout fishing tips” weebly site has dropped back to page 4.
