The key to getting indexed and ranked in the search engines is having links to your site. After all, that is the very basic feature of the Internet - websites linking to other websites. After all, what’s PPC but having a link from the search engine page to your website. Article marketing? Having a link from the article (which can be syndicated across multiple sites) to your site. Banner ads? Text link ads? Yup - links to your site.

So the bottom line is LINKS MATTER.

Jason Potash’s Traffic Kahuna launched with much hoopla this past week. I got many emails promoting it. But I’m not buying it. Why? I don’t think there is a cookie cutter way to build links. I prefer to build my own network of sites within my control.

Depending on the type of site you have, there are different ways to build links and traffic to it. Some sites work well with social marketing while others may work better with article marketing.

Do you think Google doesn’t pay attention to these networks that exist to try to game Google’s algorithm?

So would you rather spend the $147 per month for Traffic Kahuna or take that money and invest it into purchasing domains and content development?

Take that $147 per month and buy some domains to build a few blogs each month. You can also invest in content by purchasing PLR and rewriting them or by hiring someone to do it for you.

I do use comment kahuna sometimes, but I didn’t want to buy traffic kahuna. It isn’t promising. There is no way to tell if it will pay off.

Hi,
I too got bombarded with traffic kahuna and as with all other promotions that get sent my way I read all about it, but I do agree that it is a lot of money to pay out every month to maybe get some traffic your way. I do believe that Google does tend to sniff out the so called clever folks who are out to make a quick buck. I’m not saying that this idea is a bad choice, it may work for many people who are within the group but personaly it may be a better idea to stick to more traditional ways of getting traffic like articles and so forth.

@Wade: How do you find Comment Kahuna? Is it helpful to you? What do you like about it?

@Elly: Well, I think Traffic Kahuna includes article syndication sites that are owned by the TK network. So you can include article marketing too. The point is that you are buying into a large network where you can place links to your sites. Schemes like this MAY work if all the members of the network play by the rules and don’t get too greedy to place too many links at once.

In the long run, it might be better to invest in building your own network which you control.

Great post. If you are on all these Guru list we all got bombared with Traffic Kahuna ,I need not buy myself to expensive to me,plus if you are building authority sites you really wante stay away from any thing that get your sites ban or low rankings. but Jason does have some good products.
