I attended the XSitePro 2 webinar yesterday where I got a preview of some of the cool new features that will be included in the new version. Among the ones that I like are the ability to do a time scheduled release of webpages, automatic creation of your website for mobile users, ease of incorporating RSS feeds (they’ve even got feed sources listed for you so you don’t have to go hunting for them), etc.

There are also lots of widgets you can add. And another thing I really like is the ability to insert cliparts that will automatically conform to the background color of your page. If you design your own web pages, you’ll know how this can be a pain. If you get an image with a white background, you’ll have to save it to a .gif version in order to get a transparent background. And even then, sometimes you have this white speckled border around your image.

There’s just a ton of stuff you can customize according to your liking in XSP2. If you’re building Web 2.0 type sites, you can also easily include videos and audio.

I saw on the XSitePro forum that the price for XSP2 will be $297 but it’s a free upgrade if you buy version 1 of XSP now. The release date for XSP2 is tomorrow, May 20 so don’t put it off too long. For old time users like me, the upgrade will cost $97 but it’s a no brainer for me.

I’ll do a full review once I get XSP2 and have a few days to play around with it.
