Secret To Get On The First Page Of Google
Most people who do PPC are rotating their offers by sending clicks to a landing page and then using a PHP script to rotate the offers. If you want to initially split-test the same offer from different networks, here’s a REALLY easy way to do it.
Let’s take VistaPrint as an example. You can find that offer in a lot of networks. You can split-test to see which network will perform better for you. So the first thing to do is to pick up the various links - open up notepad and paste the links for easy reference (to copy into your campaigns).
Then go to your PPC account, be it AdWords or YSM or Adcenter, and make sure you turn off automatic optimization. You can do this in Google by going into the ‘Edit Campaigns’ section.
In YSM, you’ll have to disable ad display optimization. To do this, go into your ad group and click on ‘Ad Group Settings’. Make sure that ‘Optimize Ad Display’ is off.
In AdCenter, I don’t see where you can change the setting, so I’m assuming that they always display your ads evenly.
So if you’re direct linking, just create a separate ad within the ad group. If you have 3 ads for the same offer but each offer is from a different network, then by rotating the ads evenly, you are in essence split-testing between the three offers. If you have 3 ads, each ad will show 1/3 of the time. After you let the campaign run for a few days and get some conversions, then you can decide on the winner.
So there you have it. A quick tip for all of you who like to test, test and test!
