Blog Tip: Tell Us About Yourself
I see this mistake in a lot of internet marketing blogs, especially newbies. There is nothing on the blog that tells me who you are, what your background is, etc. When I read a new blog, I usually skim through the content and the next thing I look for is an “About Me” link to find out more about the blogger. People want to know who you are before they will trust you. More so if you are recommending products through affiliate links. Let me know why I should trust you and I’ll be more likely to click through to your affiliate link and make the purchase.
Telling people about yourself also helps build your brand. Another tip – when registering in forums related to your niche, use your real name so that people will remember who you are when they arrive at your blog.
Don’t know what to write about yourself? Here are some good examples taken from Darren’s Problogger and Liz’s Successful Blog.
